48.6.5 Connection Considerations
The voltage reference generator operates independently of the Comparator with Blanking
module. The output of the reference generator is connected to the CV
REF pin if the CVROE
bit (CVRCON<6>) is set. Enabling the voltage reference output onto the I/O when it is configured
as a digital input will increase current consumption. Configuring the port associated with CVREF
as a digital output, with CVRSS enabled, will also increase current consumption.
The CV
REF output pin can be used as a simple Digital-to-Analog output with limited drive
capability. Due to this limited current drive capability, a buffer must be used on the voltage
reference output for external connections to CV
REF. Figure 48-8 illustrates a buffering technique
example.
